About AllSprings
Water is the most important asset on the planet. AllSprings is a free map of every spring we can find, in America and around the world: hot, warm and cold, public and private, wild and commercial. Each spring has water-quality data and visitor reports.
Where the data comes from
- Hot and warm springs: NOAA/NCEI Thermal Springs List for the United States, 1,661 springs (Berry, Grim & Ikelman, 1980; U.S. public domain).
- Every officially named spring (cold, mineral and hot): U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System (GNIS), about 35,000 springs including historical records (public domain).
- Springs and hot springs worldwide: GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) and Wikidata (CC0), with descriptions from Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0).
- Cold, drinking and newly mapped springs, plus resort and bathhouse contact details: live from OpenStreetMap © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).
- Water chemistry: live from the Water Quality Portal (USGS, EPA and the National Water Quality Monitoring Council).
- Photos: freely licensed images from Wikimedia Commons, each credited with its author and license.
- Videos: YouTube embeds that play on AllSprings and stay credited to their creators.
- Resort details: researched from operators' own websites and published guides, linked on each page.
- Mineral guidelines: U.S. EPA drinking water regulations, NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, WHO and USGS.
- Maps & directions: Google Maps embeds and links. Ratings and reviews are viewed on Google.
- Properties for sale: summaries of public listings, linked to the original ad and checked daily, plus listings submitted by owners.
- Visitor reports: written by AllSprings visitors and shown with their names.
Always free
AllSprings will never charge for its information or services. In the future we may accept voluntary donations to help keep the site running.
Contribute
Every spring page has a public comment form with no account needed. Share conditions, access, your own water-test results, health benefits you noticed and YouTube videos. A simple anti-spam check keeps the bots out.
Disclaimer
AllSprings is free and educational. Nothing here is medical advice. Spring conditions, access and water quality change, and lab records can be decades old. Visitor reports are personal experiences, not verified claims. Confirm access and rules before you go, never trespass, and get certified lab testing before drinking spring water regularly.
Privacy policy
Effective November 1, 2026. AllSprings is operated by JCC LLC (Joseph's Carpentry & Construction). Contact: jccllc.apps@gmail.com.
- No accounts and no tracking. AllSprings has no sign-in, advertising or analytics trackers.
- Comments: when you post, we store the name, comment and optional fields you enter. They are shown publicly on that spring's page. To limit spam we also store a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, never the address itself.
- Photo uploads: photos you upload are reviewed by a person before they appear. We re-save every photo, which removes hidden camera and GPS data (EXIF). We store the photo, the name and caption you enter, and a hashed IP address. Email us to have a photo removed.
- Email alerts: if you sign up for new-listing alerts we store your email address and the states and property types you chose, and only send alerts after you confirm by email. Every alert has a one-click unsubscribe link, which deletes your address. We never sell or share email addresses.
- Language and offline saves: your language choice and any regions you save for offline use are stored only in your own browser.
- Location: the "Near me" button uses your device location only to center the map, inside your browser. It is never sent to or stored by AllSprings.
- Third-party services: map tiles and spring data load from OpenStreetMap, water data from the Water Quality Portal, photos from Wikimedia Commons, videos from YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) and, if enabled, captcha from Cloudflare. These services receive standard web requests (such as your IP address) under their own privacy policies.
- Removal: email us to remove a comment you posted.
- Children: AllSprings is not directed at children under 13.
